I’m rarely a fan boy of a given brand or product (at least I don’t think I am), and that’s true when it comes to browsers.

My main browser is Opera, which I’ve been using for quite some time. Way back before Firefox was all the rage. Once Opera became free to download, I gave it a shot and stuck with it since. I think it was Fit to Width that made me like Opera so much, and that fact that I didn’t need to download extensions. People always say that Firefox is great because of extensions, but I’ve always found that Opera had everything I needed right out of the box. Maybe I’m not a web power user like most people.

So why Chrome now? Google Docs. Not sure if there’s some other problem, but I’m having some issues with Google Docs and Opera. Good enough reason to give Chrome a shot. I could go IE or Firefox, but since it’s strictly Google Docs only, I might as well go Chrome. IE is great as a fall back and for Microsoft services, and Firefox… well… I sort of feel that it’s a little bloated now. I still keep Firefox Portable around for WebDev testing.

Let’s see how Chrome fairs. I bet it’s just another web browser, just like IE, Firefox, and Opera.

Looks like I might be adding V to my already too-long list of TV shows that I follow. Caught the first episode earlier and it was pretty good. Seems to have a lot of FX and design flash, which I like (hopefully it’s not just for the first episode.) Plus it has Moreena Baccarin. ;) As a browncoat, the inclusion of her, and a special appearance by Alan Tudyk probably means the show is trying to target me right? Still too early to tell if I’ll stick with it, but I’m at least going to give it a few more episodes.

For whatever reason I seem to be sticking with Touch Pets on the iPod touch. Not something I though I’d be interested in, but since it’s free, I decided to check it out. Quite fun. Unfortunately it’s free to play, but modelled for micro-transactions so I can’t play it for long. Two dishes of dog food and two dogs means I have only a few minutes of play time every day, and I’m not going to pay real money for virtual dog food any time soon… ( Why does petting your dog drain them of their energy?? Ah well… )

So many books I want to read yet no time (or patience) to sit down and just read. I recently rediscovered the library though, so I’m going to try to read some more. First up is Real-Time Collision Detection. I kept hearing good things about this book, but I’m too cheap to buy it. Library to the rescue! Time for some textbook style fun reading! Probably not going to understand 90% of the stuff in there, but at least I’ll get some quality time with that library book smell. Mmmm… Mmmmmm…

I’ve reset the blog! Not sure if I’m really going to start posting stuff regularily, but I want a place that’s not Twitter and Facebook to post some garbage. Never got a feel as to what people care to read about on those services.
